Welcome to Flying with Horses, and thank you for viewing our website. We are pleased to present our new course dates for 2012, for information on dates and prices please CLICK HERE
The herd have enjoyed their winter break, with just over 2 months off to relax and simply enjoy being horses. This month sees them eager to start interacting with people again, as we resume our private bookings this month and start our new year of courses in March. Having enjoyed plenty of time to rest, play and eat, the horses are eager to do what they do best, teach and help to empower humans!
Our resuced filly, Summer, is now enjoying her second year at Flying with Horses, and is beautifully developing her skills of being a therapeutic teacher as she matures and grows with the support of the herd.
We very much hope to meet you this year, to share profound, life-changing interactions with horses, either through our courses or through a private session. Please browse our website to see what we offer. We are pleased to be completing the re-design of our new website which will be up towards the end of the month, offering an online forum and a blog. Stay tuned!

Leanna with Kath, Mike, Sophie & Angel at the end of the 6-month Natural with Horses course
Photos from the last weekend of our 2011 Natural with Horses course
We were graced with glorious weather and a most playful and insightful 2 days with the horses for the finale of our 6-month course. We explored lightness and play in the roundpen with the horses, focused on overcoming obstacles with Angel, and Kath showed a phenominal display of horsemanship in being able to herd all 6 horses into a specific area single handedly! Thank you all, for a most memorable and joyous course! We wish you all the best in your adventures with horses.
2 New Advanced Students
A very warm welcome to our 2 new Advanced Students, Alex from Berkshire and Amy from Gloucestershire, who showed incredible lightness, clarity and affinity with the horses during their 2-day one-to-one courses. Amy works with her herd of beautiful horses at her farm in Dymock, so please contact her if you are intersted in a session with her and her horses, or wish for her to work with you and your horse for horse whispering or energy healing.
Alex shares a transformative 2 days with the horses, really advancing horse whispering to an advanced level, working without a rope and using just light body language and focus. Working with Jubilee in the first photo while the herd all gather to watch, earning Angel's trust in the centre photo, and sharing a wonderful healing moment with Cleo in the third photo.
Amy spends the second day with the herd refining horse whispering and Equine Facilitated Therapy. Angel follows lightly and willingly at liberty, after a moment of closeness with Amy...
We are also pleased to announce that two of our Advanced Students now have their websites up and running, and are offering therapeutic sessions with their horses as well as being able to work with you and your horse to teach natural horsemanship skills:
Marianna Northam (Swindon) & Natasha Rathour (Tunbridge Wells)

11 year old Erin showed her natural aptitute with horses, learning horse whispering in the
fastest time I've ever known, and easily applying it to 3 horses, finishing off with a bareback
ride on the magnificent Shire Joseph. Well done Erin!
Students applying precision leading skills, focusing energy and intent to move the horses.

3 horses watch Kath and Joseph in the roundpen, and Amelia and Johanna during their
horse whispering day where they really refined their skills from their previous session
and naturally excelled in taking it to a new level of lightness and precision.

Flying with Horses Recommends Cytek Hoof-Care
Bill (Cytek founder) with Leanna, and new arrival Cleo in the middle
For more info on Cytek please visit: http://www.cytekhorse.com/
Cytek online video CLICK HERE
Leanna is proud to support Cytek hoof care for her herd of horses, all of whom have benefitted greatly from it's trimming and shoeing system that supports natural hoof function and promotes horse health. Thanks to a demonstration by Cytek founder Bill, Leanna changed from her traditional barefoot trimmer to Cytek, to see if it really did offer a truer-to-nature function of the hoof. As soon as Joseph, the first horse in the herd to have a Cytek trim, had his feet trimmed, his entire stance and posture was more raised and balanced. He was no longer heavily on the forehand and stumbling, and the improvement was immediate and very noticable.
All of the herd are now trimmed by Bill, utilising his first hand experience of wild horses and their hoof function, and bringing these important natural functions to our horses. See the balanced stance of the herd who are all standing square with their front legs coming under the body more for support and natural function of the tendons and ligaments:
The herd all showing their natural posture thanks to Cytek barefoot trimming
Cytek trimming and shoeing has also helped 2 equines from FWH certified students Marianne (Swindon) and Amy (Dymock, Glocs). Both had a pony that had become lame and were diagnosed as having laminits by each of their vets. The traditional treatment for this is being sectioned off from grass, being stabled for several weeks while being given pain killers and other medication to ease inflamation. Upon examining the hooves of both of these ponies, their story is the same as Cleo's, no signs of laminitis at all, proper trimming to balance the hoof, shoes on the front hooves only to support the hoof, and instant return to grass as it was not laminitis that was the cause of the problem. So a huge thank you to Bill for having researched & established a more natural system of hoof care that is helping our horses.
Cleo's journey from lameness to soundness thanks to Cytek
Cleo arrived lame on her near-foreleg, diagnosed with laminitis from her previous owner's vet. Bill came out the day after her arrival, trimmed her lame hoof and put on a Cytek shoe. The result was immediate, from a very lame horse to one who moved much more evenly and confidently. I videod her transition and will post it on her as soon as I've edited it. Cleo now has shoes on her fronts only, and these will only be required for 12 weeks to support her sole while it regenerated and strengthens. Photos of Cleo before and after her session:
Cleo when she arrived (left), just after Cytek shoeing (middle), and the following day (right)
Note the imbalanced posture of her front legs before, and her more balanced posture after, where her front legs are coming together under the body more as nature intended, such an improvement!

Meet Cleo, the newest herd member
Cleo settling beautifully into the herd, & already strolled into the roundpen to teach in her second week
A warm welcome to beautiful Cleo, who was gifted to Flying with Horses and travelled all the way from the borders of Scotland to join the herd at the end of June. She has settled in very peacefully and has already joined in some our sessions and courses. Cleo has a wonderful energy that she is loving sharing, with the herd and with our clients and students. We look forward to posting more photos of her soon. Cleo arrived lame on her near-fore and had been diagnosed with laminitis. To read more about her recovery thanks to a natural system of shoeing and trimming, please see Cytek news below, thanks.

Welcome to 3 New Certified Students!

A very warm welcome to Mary, Natasha and Amy
What a spectacular 6 day course with 3 extraordinarily gifted horsewomen! It was a joy to be able to observe these 3 women excel in all aspects of horsemanship that we cover during the course (Equine Facilitated Therapy, Horse Whispering, Groundwork, Leading, Energy Healing and Telepathy). We were also thrilled at 2 new happenings from the horses, Summer, our new young filly who had only arrived the week before, chose to participate in the course and partook in her first EFT sessions, which was a joy to be part of. And Blessing, our bay Shire mare, participated in her first Therapeutic Riding session, offering to be riden so that she could help clear energy, which could be seen with several minutes of yawning at the end! We wish you all every success and happiness in your adventures with horses!

Mary with Jubilee, Amy with Joseph, and Natasha with Summer

Learning Horse Whispering, Marianne (Advanced Student) joins in for the day, and Natasha with Jubilee in the labarynth, learning focus and deliberate movement.
Leanna Giving a talk in Havant this month

Monday 18th April, 10.30am
Havant Complimentary Health Group
Leanna will be talking to the Havant Complementary Health Group on the subject of Equine Facilitated Therapy & Learning. This new and growing form of therapy, which is becoming more recognised as a powerful form of therapy,is being utilised in many differing areas of personal development and rehabilitation and has huge scope and potential in helping people. Learn how to understand the subtle language of horses, and what they are communicating to you. When we are able to understand horses, and apply their teacings in our lives, we are given the opportunity to make beneficial changes that impact our lives for the better in many ways...
Meet Summer!
Summer on her arrival at our resting paddock, introducing herself to the herd in March.
We are thrilled to be offering a loving home to Summer, a 17 month filly who was part of a group of 9 Spanish horses, whose owners left the country without warning, leaving these horses abandoned at a livery yard, where they have only received minimal care in the last year. We were able to transport the last 2 horses, one being a young filly, the other a 16 year old mare (Violet, who has been rehomed with Flying with Horses' neighbours, The Unicorn Trust).
We sectioned off part of the paddock, giving Summer time to enjoy settling in on her own for her first few hours, before introducing Angel into the paddock to keep her company (being a previous mum, Angel was most experienced in being able to offer her support and boundaries). Later on in the day Jubilee joined them for the night... it seemed that Summer was very much enjoying her new home and having been in a paddock with 2 other fillies, was in need of some reminding that adult horses are to be respected! So Jubilee offered his support to Angel. The following morning the fence came down so that all 5 horses could be together. It was a gentle introduction on a beautiful sunny day...

Red Horse Equestrian Centre
Leanna with Emma & Niamh at Red Horse Equestrian Centre
We'd like to thank all the wonderful staff and young adults at Red Horse Equestrian Centre who were there to observe and participate in our horse whispering demonstration. This special centre teaches all aspects of horsemanship, from pasture management and horse care, to riding. It was an honour to spend the day with you all, and to work with some of your beautiful horses. If you wish to find out more, please visit their website: http://www.rhec.info/
Flying with Horses is thrilled to announce that we are working with a local Young Offenders Team to assist in the rehabilitation of young adults, something we have been looking forward to as the horses are so gifted at helping people in regaining their confidence, and finding their path in life.
We also have our new supply of Gift Vouchers available with designs of all of the horses, so if you are looking to give a loved one a present that will connect them to horses and their life dreams, then please contact Leanna for details, many thanks. Your Gift Coucher will also go a long way in helping towards the Winter feed costs, which have risen steeply due to a short supply of hay and haylage across the country.

Testimonials
'Thank you so much for your patience and caring mentoring of our small group last week. It was a truly amazing journey and learning experience and I enjoyed your horses very much. Thank you also for the lovely photographs as memories of our experience. Thank you for opening my eyes to this wonderful gift.' Jules Harmer-White, Certified Student
'Thank you so much for listening and all of you showing me how to listen not only to horses but myself and life. Maybe it should be called Horse Listening and not Whispering! I am so very grateful' Julie Cheyney, Certified Student
It is said that there may come a moment in each persons’ life, which if seized, can transform that life forever – I have just had such an epiphany! I returned from a 6 day intensive Natural with Horses course with Leanna and her horses - and am still filled with the loving energy, encouragement, learning, healing and friendship that the intense journey both created and facilitated! I could not recommend this course enough! Leanna shines with her horses – her spirit of truth, courage, clarity, love, resonance with the natural world, deep knowing and sensitivity orchestrated such an intensely safe, yet challenging space and my learning seemed to span lifetimes in just a few days. Her integrity, congruence and generosity make this course stand out above all others. I am profoundly touched by her and her horses. If you want to change your life – then join her now! Shirani Situnayake, Certified Student
Just writing you a little post-session note to say thanks again for such a wonderful experience. It really was a very beautiful and moving day for me, out there in the sunshiney meadow with you and your horses. I felt very cared-for and understood on a deep level - a very important and healing time. Private Session Testimonial
'I wanted to follow up my time with you and the horses with a brief email - saying what an inspired session I had: I drove home with a heart full - a strange combination of sadness and joy - but something deep I feel definitely transpired. Thank you so much - to you and your friends. My revelations/sharing with you was born partly out of what must be my readiness to look but also what you facilitated - with courage, clarity and insight.' Private Session Testimonial
'I've been absolutely bowled over by the experience of my session with you and your horses. Amazing. You have a special talent and 4 wonderful friends. I'm still feeling great from the experience although I cant really explain what you do other than that it's something special - keep it up!' Michael, Kent
I had never experienced being with horses in such freedom, and already on the first weekend I realised that this was the course for me, when the horses all came galloping towards and then through us. I have learnt that it is ok for me to listen to that voice inside of me, and already the changes are very apparent in my life. I often feel the horses with me still, and I know that this is just the start of my hopes becoming reality. Thank you, all of you.' Anne Scotland, Certified Student
'I have learnt and gained so much from the time I've spent with you and the horses - much more than I ever thought possible. Thank you for your patience, your loving encouragement and your belief in me. So many "moments" experienced during the time I've spent with you all will stay with me always. I feel as though I've "come home" at last but also know that this is just the beginning. The whole experience was, as you say, a joy. Thank you and the horses. Such a lot of learning but it seemed almost effortless if that makes sense. Like the buzzard accessing a thermal.' Marianne Northam, Certified Student
'Respect, Love, Passion, Encouragement, Honesty, Humour, Integrity, Trust, Generosity, Intuition, Flexibility, Hospitality. All the above words (and many more) are relevant to my experience with Leanna and her horses on the Flying with Horses 6-month course. As a result of her gifted guidance I experienced a deep communication with and understanding of myself and the amazing members of her herd as well as gaining invaluable practical knowledge. It was a challenging, liberating, empowering and joyful journey during which I learnt new skills, uncovered my abilities and engaged intimately with the horses. A journey that for me has only just begun. Many, many thanks to all of you' Marianne Northam, Certified Student
