Equine Assisted Therapy
Finding the leader within, Overcoming obstacles, and writing experiences (with Angel's support).
An increasingly recognised and utilized form of healing and personal development, Equine Assisted Therapy (also known as Equine Facilitated Therapy & Learning) is a powerful way for us to transform our lives for the better, and help other people to do the same. Horses, being herd animals, are masters at working together to maintain balance within their herd, and when we arround them, that includes us. Being prey animals, they are highly sensitive, and have evolved an advanced ability to communicate. When we know how to understand horses, we are able to be the facilitator that is the conduit between them and our client, and through guided interactions with horses, profound healing can occur.
The benefits of Equine Assisted Therapy is being harnessed in many spheres, including rehabilitation from addictions, working with young offenders and prison inmates, as therapy for people overcoming past trauma, and for all people who wish to experience a profound inner change through working with horses.
This is a therapy where the horses guide and lead the healing. The most important tool for the human guiding the healing is being able to really tune in with the horses, and follow their intuition. When we surrender to the flow of what the horses are unfolding, the most powerful healing can occur. Experience vary from hands-on interactions with the horses, to one-to-one time talking in their presence.
Horse Whispering

Horse Whispering is a growing area of interest in the horse world, and is a powerful way to build a strong foundation and relationship of trust between horse and human, and to rehabiliate problem areas with horses. I was fortunate to study horse whispering with a Cherokee horseman, who taught the way of the horse. This is far removed from the more well known and conventional forms of horse whispering, which is often making taking the stance of a predator and making the horse canter until it submits.
Our way of horse whispering is never about making a horse submit. Our focus here is on mastering our level of leadership through interacting with horses, where the horses are encouraged to teach us through their full and unconditioned expression. This is a two-way communication entering in the world of how horses communicate with each other, taken in small and focused steps. The horse will only show us the signs of submission when we have shown that we are worthy... showing patience, focused intent, empathy, awareness, and consistency.
Through horse whispering we gain a greater awareness of ourselves, our body language, and our non-verbal ability to express ourselves. When we find our inner leader, our lives change for the better, and all of our relationships with horses benefit.
Groundwork

Students practsing focused leadership with horses through excercies on the ground
Everything that we do with horses relates to our relationship with them. Whenever we are among horses, we are part of the herd, and it's always in the best interest for the horse and the human that we are the alpha, as this keeps us safe and them relaxed (we make most frustrating omegas as our interactions with horses often require that we take the lead, and this can be psychologically stressful if we are not the leader that our horse needs us to be).
Leading and groundwork excersises are a powerful way to bond and relate with your horse, as well as improving our levels of focus, awareness and balance. All that we do with horses has the potential to strengthen our relationship with them, and these are wonderful ways to do just that!
Energy Healing & Massage

Learning hands-on energy healing, scanning the aura, and Tellington Touch massage for Jubilee.
Energy is Universal, it is all around us and we are all natural healers, as this energy is nature itself! We teach energy healing through connecting with and improving intuition, feeling and breathing. Horses are masters of energy and always guide the healing they receive, for they know where they need it most.
Learn about the chakras, aura and energy of horses, how to direct and channel the healing energy, and also observe Leanna giving a professional healing at a nearby livery yard for those of you wishing to become Equine Healers. We also offer Reiki attunements for those of you wishing to become a certified Equine Reiki Healer (please book prior to course).

Animal Communication

Students practising animal communication with the horses in the paddock...
Animal communication is the subtle language of nature. All life communicates in subtle ways, and we are born understanding this language. For most of us, because the people around us only recognised verbal language, we forgot how to communicate in the language of nature and animals, so in order to regain this ability, we only have to re-member how.
Horses are especially gifted in helping us to understand this communication, to help us access the deep level of our intuition and awareness that senses, feels, knows and sees. By attaining a quiet state of mind, we can more easily pick up the messages, although often the horses will give us physical or verbal confirmation to help us as we learn.
Once we re-mind ourselves how to tune in to this language, we are able to talk with our horses through our thoughts, visions and feelings. And we are also able to commune with the other animals in our lives, and wildlife and plants too.
And Enjoying the Horses!
All of our horses at FWH love what they do. The horses are always eager to greet visitors and love to interact and observe freely and openly. We take pride in the love and care that our horses so generously share, and it is our deep priveledge to be able to offer these unique experiences with horses at liberty.
We offer you a nurturing, supportive environment where your dreams and ambitions are our priority. All of our courses are guided to assisting each individual gain what they most need, so we offer a flexible course where the horses lead the way in helping you achieve that which you most wish for in your path with horses!
